JOINING THE VILLAGE MOVIE CLUB REWARDS PROGRAM
Who can join the Village Movie Club?
Any Victorian or Tasmanian resident aged 12 years or older with an active email address.
I'm under 12 years old, why can't I join the Village Movie Club?
We apologise but the Village Movie Club is not available to persons under 12 years of age due to Australian privacy legislation.
How much does it cost to join the new Village Movie Club?
Nothing, its FREE to join!
How do I join the Village Movie Club Rewards Program?
To join the Village Movie Club Rewards Program:
- You can pick up a membership card and welcome wallet from the Ticket Box.
You then need to go online to villagecinemas.com.au and activate your membership and link your card to ensure you receive all of the benefits of the club. - Or you can sign up online at villagecinemas.com.au and then collect your membership card and welcome wallet from the Ticket Box next time you see a movie. Then you need to go online and link your card to your membership.
How do I know if my account is active?
You have completed the online sign up form at villagecinemas.com.au and received your username and password details and have linked your membership card to your account.
Do I have to renew my membership?
No, your membership will keep going unless you decide to unsubscribe from the club.
How do I change my email address or other details of my membership?
You can update your details at any time, simply log in to your account online and go to 'Edit Your Profile'.
Can a Village Cinemas staff member update my details when I visit the movies?
It is always best to update your own profile online, as Village Cinemas Staff will only be able to update your details if there is no queue at the Ticket Box.

Can I share my Village Movie Club Card and Key Tag?
No, the Village Movie Club Rewards program is an individual membership and each member must have there own membership card and key tag.
Do I have to use both my Membership Card and Key Tag?
No, you can choose to use either, whichever is more convenient for you. Both are linked to your personal account.
What if I forget my card or key tag or to log in as a member when buying tickets online, will my visit still count?
Unfortunately, if you forget your card or key tag or to login when buying tickets we cannot track your visit.
What do I do if I've lost my card or key tag?
Simply visit your nearest Village Cinema and collect a new card at the Ticket Box. When you get home you'll need to visit villagecinemas.com.au, log in and update your membership with your new card number.
What if I have an old VMC Card or EMC card – can I still use it to earn rewards?
Yes both of these cards are still valid to use in our loyalty program along with the new VMC membership card. If you would like to update your existing card with a new VMC card simply ask at the Ticket Box.
What if I have multiple membership cards?
You only need one card to earn rewards. To check which of your cards is active, simply go online and log in to your membership account and check which card is linked by entering the card number. If you need a hand you can also take your cards into any Village Cinemas Ticket Box and the staff can check for you. And don't forget to bin the rest!
What if I have a VMC card and an EMC card?
You only need one card to earn rewards. To check which of your cards is active, simply go online and log in to your membership account and check which card is linked by entering the card number. If you need a hand you can also take your cards into any Village Cinemas Ticket Box and the staff can check for you.
Where can I locate the Check Digit on my VMC card?
Your check digit is the two numbers located on the back of your VMC card near the barcode. If your card does not have a check digit simply enter '00'.

What do I do if I don't want to receive emails?
That's easy you can still be a member of the club and elect not to receive VMC emails. Simply log in to your account online and go to 'Edit Your Profile' - you can then select your preferred frequency to receive emails or elect to not receive any at all.
EARNING REWARDS
How do I earn rewards?
Simply flash your VMC card or key tag when buying a ticket at the Ticket Box or whilst being logged in as a member online to any Traditional, VMax, 3D, Gold Class or Europa session. Every time you do this when purchasing a ticket online or at the Ticket Box it will be tracked as one visit on your membership.
How many times must I visit the movies to receive a $9 movie ticket reward?
You must see five (5) movies before you receive a $9 ticket to use on your 6th visit.
How many times must I visit the movies to receive a FREE movie ticket reward?
You must see ten (10) movies to receive a FREE ticket on your 11th visit.
If I use a complimentary ticket does this count as a visit?
No, only paid movie tickets count as a visit. This includes discounted movie tickets.
I forgot to show my VMC card or key tag, or to log in as a member online, can my visit still be tracked?
No, unfortunately you must have your card scanned or details entered online for your visit to be tracked.
Where can I see my visit balance and how close I am to getting a reward?
Every time you flash you VMC card or key tag or log in when buying tickets online your visit will be tracked on your own personal 'Movie-Meter'. The Movie-Meter will appear on your Member Home page and will show you how many visits have been recorded against your membership and how close you are to earning a reward. You can check your Member Home page at any time to see where you are on your Movie-Meter.
Can I purchase 2 tickets (for a friend and I) and earn 2 visits?
No, you can only earn visits on movie tickets you purchase and use for yourself. But why not get your friend to sign up and start earning rewards too.
How long does it take Visits to 'show up' on my Movie-Meter?
It may take up to 48 hours for your visit to become visible in your membership account.
Can I transfer my visits to another VMC member?
No, visits cannot be transferred between members.
Do I earn Visits when I purchase Screensavers, Gift Voucher or Gift Cards?
No, a visit is only recorded when you redeem Screensavers, Gift Voucher or Gift Cards.
If I lose my VMC card and pick up a new card at the site, will my visit still count on that day?
Unfortunately not, your card must be activated and linked to your membership account for a visit to count and be tracked against your membership. Hence when you receive your new VMC card you should go online and activate the card by linking it to your membership account.
If I get a refund on a ticket will my visit still count?
Unfortunately not, when you receive a refund on your transaction, your visit will be removed.
Will my visits expire?
Yes, you will have 12 months to accumulate Visits in order to obtain Rewards such as the $9 ticket on your 6th visit, and the free ticket after 10 visits. Your visit balance will expire 12 months from the date you sign up. For existing VMC members who joined prior to 15 July 2010 (pre-rewards program) your anniversary will be the 15 July every year. For members who join after this date – your anniversary date will be the date you joined the club. This date will then serve as your anniversary date for your Visit Balance to expire annually.
I go to the movies more than 10 times a year, what happens once I hit 10 on my Movie-Metre within 12 months?
Once you reach 10 visits and receive your FREE ticket reward, your visit balance on your Movie-Meter will return to 0 and you start your reward journey again. This is regardless of whether you redeem your free ticket reward or not.

How can I redeem a Reward?
You can redeem Rewards online at www.villagecinemas.com.au whilst logged in as a Member or at the ticket box of a Participating Cinema by presenting your Membership Card or Key Tag.
Where can I redeem my $9 movie ticket reward?
You can redeem your $9 movie ticket reward for traditional, VMAX or Village Digital 3D cinemas. Please note a $3 surcharge still applies for Village Digital 3D sessions and 3D glasses charge is not included in your reward and you must purchase these separately for $1. You can also use your ticket for films marked NFT.
Where can I redeem my FREE movie ticket reward?
You can redeem your Free movie ticket reward for traditional, VMAX or Village Digital 3D cinemas (the regular $3 surcharge for 3D films will not apply for a free movie ticket reward). However please note 3D glasses charge is not included in your reward and you must purchase these separately for $1. You can also use your ticket for films marked NFT.
Are there any restrictions on Reward tickets?
Yes, members cannot redeem reward tickets for Gold Class sessions or for special events or with any other special offers, unless specified by Village. The redemption of a Reward is subject to session availability.
Do Reward tickets expire?
Yes, you will have 2 months from the date that your reward ticket is issued to redeem a reward ticket. To check the expiry of a reward ticket simply log in to your membership account online and check your Member Home page. The email you receive letting you know you've earned the reward will also tell you the expiry date of the ticket.
Does redeeming a Reward ticket count towards a visit?
When you redeem a $9 movie ticket reward this will count as a visit as it is still a paid ticket. When you redeem a FREE movie ticket reward this will not count as a visit.
Do I pay a booking fee when redeeming my FREE ticket online?
No, no booking fee will be charged on redeeming your FREE reward ticket online.
$10 MOVIE OF THE WEEK
What is the $10 movie of the week?
Each week we nominate a film and give you a $10 general admission tickets for all sessions for the following seven days. To redeem this offer you just need to flash your VMC card or key tag at the Ticket Box. Please note that a surcharge applies to 3D films or as otherwise specified by Village Cinemas.
Where can I find out what the Movie is?
Simply log in online and go to your Member Home page and click on the link to 'see $10 movie'.
